I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
